MTNL promises to provide nationwide 3G data services on gsm mobile connections. I use MTNL Delhi number 9711011808 for accessing 3G internet services in my tablet. During my last visit from Delhi to Rajasthan on March 1 – 2, 3G services suddenly stopped on my tablet as soon as I entered the roaming area. The problem remained even after several settings change and restarts. I called up MTNL helpline 011 22221503 to receive help. After several unsuccessful attempts, I was provided a Complaint number 609186, dated March 1, 2014. The problem was never resolved till the time I made next trip to Rajasthan during March 13 – 15, 2014. The 3G services stopped as soon as I entered roaming region. I called up MTNL Delhi helpline once again to inform them on the issue and enquire the status of my existing complaint (ref 609186). To my shock, I was informed by the representative that the complaint is still ‘in-process’, even after 14 days of registering. after some more unsuccessful attempts by ill-trained support staff, I was provided with another Complaint ref number 612512 dated March 14, 2014; without any conclusion on previous complaint. Still, 3G services have not been restored on my number and I continue to face inconvenience and loss of business.
As a first step, my internet services on number 9711011808 must be started immediately with no further delay. In compensation of inconvenience caused to me, harassment faced at hands of MTNL Delhi’s customer service representatives and loss of business coordination, it is demanded that MTNL Delhi must pay a compensation of Rs 100,000/- against its lack of services and irresponsible attitude towards customer service.
