Series of events: 1. I shipped my 42 Panasonic TV & LG blu-ray DVD player package & household items package [total 2] from Chicago, US on Aug 3, 2013. The items came to Mumbai port around 25 Nov, 2013. 2. I paid customs duty of Rs.15,827 via wire transfer to Gajendra Shetty [Akanksha Shipping]. He then cleared it from customs and shipped it using GATI-KWE to Bangalore on 30 Nov, 2013. 3. On, Dec 2nd, the packages reached Bangalore and on Dec 4th, the package containing TV & DVD player was lost/misplaced/stolen, while the package containing household items was intact. GATI courier told me that they are searching the TV & DVD player package. 4. After 3 days of search, GATI courier said we are unable to find the TV & DVD player package but they can deliver the other household items package. 5. They delivered the household items package on 7 Dec, 2013 and asked for more time to search for TV & DVD player package. 6. On 18, Dec,2013, customer service assocaiate of GATI courier (Amita), confirmed that they are not able to trace the TV & DVD player package and because the mumbai shipper didnot declare a value of the items they canot process claim. 7. On 21, Dec, 2013, I went to my nearby police station (Sampigehalli, bangalore) but GATI courier office was not under there jurisdication. 8. On 25, Dec, 2013, I went to GATI courier zonal office in Peenya, Bangalore and they said they will look into the matter. 9. Not convinced with their answer, I went to Peenya police station to file a complaint. Police officer called up the manager (Yashwant Khandwa) and he asked for 2 days of time. So, a complaint was not lodged. 10. I called up the manager after 2 days. He asked for 4 more days. 11. I then called him up on 1, Jan, 2014 and he said we are not able to find it. Police complain wonot help. You go to our claims department at Corporation circle and file a claim. They will help you.
