AirAsia Flight – Refused request & Ticket Replacement

On 31 Oct 2014, I booked 2 tickets – for myself and my child on AirAsia India Flight 1212 via their website and got confirmation #FHMH5E. On 19 Dec 2014, I received email that Flight 1212 scheduled for 7.40am was cancelled and combined with flight 1220 departing at 8.10pm. Since I was travelling with a small child, and had to arrive before 6pm at Bangalore for a personal work, I requested AirAsia India to refund the ticket cost for the flight they cancelled, and was promised via call centre that they will refund the complete amount Rs.1860 within the next 1 week to 10 days. Despite numerous followups via their call center num 1860 500 800(waiting for close to 30 mins for the agent to attend to my call during each of the 10 to 15 calls that I made) and trying to contact them twice via e-form, I am YET to receive the refund from AirAsia India. AirAsia also refused my request to issue replacement tickets on their airlines on a different date instead of refund. The call center still claims that the ‘request is still under process’ for more than 4 months now.

Refund of my ticket amount – Rs.1860. Interest for 4 months for non-payment of the refund. Mobile call charges – Rs.1000 Alternate flight carrier booking amount – Rs.2708. Need a relief from the big mental torture that the airlines has been causing by cancelling the flight for myself and my kid, and subsequent 4 month delay in refund.
