Hello, I am Kruthika Iyer, from Pune, living currently in Habsiguda area, Hyderabad. I went to the local Airtel shop on October 30th, 2013 to buy a new sim as I was told Airtel has the best coverage in Hyderabad. I have to say, I am DISAPPOINTED with my experience thus far. On 30th, I bought my sim card for Rs.100 and the person there told me that it will take 24 hours for activation. I waited the full day on 31st, but activation did not take place. On 1st mid morning, I went to the shop again and was told that my form was sent back because of some minute detail (some box had to be checked, I think). I asked them why couldn’t they have informed me about it earlier. Their reason: the form was sent back on 31st night or something to that effect and they WOULD have called me on 1st had I not gone to the store (I have grave doubts about that!) They also told me that the sim would get activated on 1st evening. No activation took place that evening. Finally, they sent the form ONLY on 2nd, Saturday. (WHY DID THEY WAIT A WHOLE DAY TO SEND IT???) On 2nd, when I asked them about the activation, the person there told me to call him in the evening, which I didn’t do/forgot. Thus, activation did not take place. Sunday, the 3rd, of course, was a holiday. On 4th, Monday, I went to the shop in the afternoon and I was told that the server is down and they can’t check the status of my application. Plus, it was officially a holiday on account of Diwali. Today, 5th, Tuesday, I went yet again to the shop and I was told the status can’t be checked and activation is not really possible because the server is down. However, it will be done by 7 pm.
I AM ON ROAMING!!!! I NEED A LOCAL NUMBER ASAP! IF BY TODAY 7 pm, MY NUMBER IS NOT ACTIVATED, I WILL GO TO A DIFFERENT SERVICE!!!!!!! Also, I was given the numbers of 2 people from the local shop to contact. One number usually does not have network. When it has network, the person doesn’t pick up the call because he is busy with another customer. Looks like I am not the most important customer, EVEN THOUGH my number activation has been facing problems. The other number I was given, connected to someone who said he would get back to me after finding out what the problem is exactly. Even after half an hour, I never heard back from him. Calling him was of no use, because it always came as “the number is busy” I am DISGUSTED, IRRITATED, FRUSTRATED! My new (hopefully) airtel number is 9618281018. Kruthika

On 30-10-2013 I purchased a basic NOKIA (dual sim) along with a free airtel sim at POORVIKA MOBILE (04442125009). I gave a passport size photo and my id proof. I was told the sim would be activated in two days time. Till now it didn’t happen. This creates a very bad impression about AIRTEL. I am afraid whether I can safely recommend AIRTEL service. The number on the sim card cover is 9600947839
