Order no. 402-5407828-8773107, placed on January 4, 2014 for “Green Tea Variety Gift Set Green Tea Variety By Elizabeth Arden“. Purchase price of Rs 2,189 was paid at the time of order. delivery estimate was given as 17 Jan 2014 – 25 Jan 2014. The mail confirming order has been shipped was received on January 14, 2014 . On the same date the seller mail giving courier number was also sent. However no other correspondence from the company was received subsequently. No direct customer case number was available. Online complaint was filed on 6.2.2014. The call back was received from the company which stated that the product has not been shipped. The company Amazon.in refused to take any responsibility for the failure saying that the seller was only using it website and they are not responsible for the problem even though the order was placed with them. A refund was initiated only at the consumer’s behest and was given on Feb 12.
The product was not received. The company refused to take any responsibility. A minimum of 2 hours was spent on the phone. The company refused to reship the product. It refused to initiate instant refund. No explanation was given for non-initiation of the refund once the company realized the product could not be shipped. The company also told a direct lie in sending a mail that the product has been shipped, even though the product had ot left the original location. The order was a first wedding anniversary gift for my sister-in-law and as a result of gross negligence on the part of Amazon.in the gift could not be delivered.
