Asus Zenfone Under Warranty charged for Service

I purchased Asus Zenfone 5 on its launch day in July from www.flipkart.com. The screen of my Asus Zenfone 5 conked all of a sudden on last Thursday i.e. 30th October 2014 and the display is blurred rendering the phone unusable. I approached service center of ASUS at F1 Info Solutions & Services Pvt. Ltd. at 102, Cosmos Platinum, Bhavani Shankar Road, Dadar, Mumbai-400024 (022-24216xxx/24324xxx) and they immediately (without even proper diagnosis) informed me that the display has been internally damaged and it is not covered under warranty and asked me for approx Rs.4400/- to repair the phone. They gave me RMA Number INR64B0014 and told me that they can replace it under warranty only if Asus India directs them to do so. I contacted Asus’s toll free customer care number 18002090365(answered by Mr. Nadeem) who took Mr. Deepak Nikalje (engineer at service center referred to above) on conference. Mr. Deepak could not give me any satisfactory reason for diagnosing internal damage not covered within warranty and maintained that display lcd is damaged due to pressure! I fail to understand that how can the display of a phone having corning gorilla glass 3(even striking hammer doesn’t affect it as per the advertisement) get damage internally when there is no visible sign of physical damage on the phone(not even a scratch on the phone)! It is just an attempt to ignore the product defect and blame it on the consumer. Ultimately after discussions for around an hour, I was asked to click some pictures and send them to Mr. Deepak who was to get in touch with Asus and reply back to me. I was thereafter told by Mr. Deepak on Monday (3rd November 2014) that Asus has replied saying that the repair wont be covered under warranty. I called up toll free number again and the representative asked me to write an email to support-in@asus.com (the only option left as per him) who would supposedly resolve the issue by today. I am yet to receive any response from them about the repair. I would like to inform you that I have been mentally harassed and am undergoing tremendous trouble since I am phone less for about 5 days now. Attached are pics which clearly show that the there is no physical damage on the phone. It is a product defect. If ASUS claims that its physical damage then I fail to understand their claim about quality product since a product with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 cannot be damaged internally with regular use and with normal pressure! Otherwise what is the use of having Corning Gorilla Glass 3? I request you to intervene and require ASUS to repair my phone within warranty without any charge together with suitable compensation for the harassment faced by me.

Replacement of the defective handset with fresh warranty of 1 year together with a suitable compensation for the mental agony suffered by me as well as for not being able to remain in touch with anyone as well as losing potential clients who couldn’t reach me because of me being phone less.
