I had 4 loan accounts with Axis bank for property in Mysore. In Nov 2011, I had closed one of the 4 accounts. I had asked HDFC bank to do a stop payment of the ECS for the account closed. By mistake, HDFC applied stop payment to all the 4 accounts. Axis bank kept on charging ECS stop payment charges month on month for about 20 months I found this out about 3 months back and since them I wrote several complains to Axis bank to reverse their charges. Complain ref no:027-671-974 is the latest. HDFC bank agrees that were at fault to make this stop payment, as there was no instruction from me. But Axis bank should also have a policy to squash the ECS, after 3 series of stop payment. I m surprised why Axis bank didn’t apply that rule. It would have reduced my ECS return charges. So, HDFC bank was at fault, there is an equal issue with Axis bank, which kept charging me the ECS return charges for more than 1 year. The account numbers are mentioned: Loan no : PH1510100048194 – 4959 – Open Loan no : PH1510100047944 -4959 – closed in Jul 2013 Loan no : PH1510100047970 -4959 – Open When I contacted HDFC, they can’t make any reversals, as they didn’t charge any amount. Axis bank charged me, and all I’m asking is to reverse the charges. They have refused and Hence I’m left with no option to log this complain.
I just want my stop payment charges to be reversed. Not asking for anything extra. The total amount for reversal would be about 36,000.
