Dear Sir this is to highlight an incident happened to me, please take a little of your precious time to read my letter. I belong to a small village of Tezpur in the State of Assam, I completed my masters in management and worked for a multinational company for 6 years in Bangalore i am 31 years old, Due to some domestic concerns i had to leave my job and come back to my home town. Due to lake of availability of job i decided to start my own business and looked for available options and feasibility. I studied and found that a plant by name STEVIA can be planted and processed with a small capital of 60 to 70 thousand rupees and Gov. Of India supports such cultivations ( Land is own ). Thinking which I approached SBI , United Bank of India, Assam Gramin Bank. Though all of their website says easy loan process and very attractive loan process, I was denied for the loan as they are busy closing their accounts. My concern is the plant can be planted between feb and march only. and i will have to wait till next year to get the funds, I would have that funds to survive till next year why do i go for a loan ? For their internal process a common man suffers… If I approach them to open an account, whey will through their tongue as RED CARPET. I do not understand the logic. If this is the case then banks should declare holiday for a month.!!! It reflects the irony of India and willingness of people to help each other, Everyone blames someone else for a bad system but no one tries to improve it, even when one have the authority. Singing a national anthem and saying i am a petriot on an independence day do not prove that we are Indian and love our country, It needs to be shown at work by efficient working and understand the concern of a fellow Indian. I am not sharing this story with you for sympathy, Its because i think a small initiative from you could lead to a greater change and increase your self-respect. I would request your intervention in this matter and hope i will have my plantation going this year. Plz support a genuine cause and help an Indian farmer.
