Bank of Baroda – PPF I am not able to withdraw my own money

Sir, I am a retired person, aged 66 years. I have been maintaining a PPF account, No. 0412PPF0000000000101 with Bank of Baroda, Saki Naka Branch, Mumbai. The account matured on April 1st, 2011. In the absence of any renewal instruction, the default option of continuing the account without any contribution is implemented. This option allows the accrual of interest in the fund, permitting withdrawal in instalments not exceeding one a year till the entire amount is withdrawn. Recently I relocated to Bangalore. Before shifting, I had intimated the Bank, on Jan 7 2014, to transfer the account to JP Nagar Branch, Bangalore. I have been making many visits to JP Nagar Branch of the Bank to confirm that the account is transferred To Bangalore. On June 11, 2014, the Bank confirmed that the account has been transferred to JP Nagar Branch, Bangalore. Subsequently when I wanted to make a partial withdrawal of Rs. 100000/-, the Bank said that this can be done only when the account is closed, which I have refused, as the rules permit continuation of the account without contribution, permitting withdrawal in installments not exceeding once a year till the entire amount is withdrawn. The official at the Bank also told me that he is not able to help me much as these requests are processed by their back office in Mumbai. Summary: I want 1) The interest amount to be credited for the period Apirl 1, 2013 to March 31,2014. 2) Permit partial withdrawal, as per the rules up to one withdrawal a year. Thanking you, A.
