Packaged items are being sold at price above the printed MRP. I bought 200 ml orange juice terapack of “Real” brand. The MRP on pack was 20. The vendor said it will cost me 25. I asked for a bill, but he refused to give a bill. There are serious malpractices going on at all food joints along mumbai-pune expressway. Rampant overcharging and lack of hygiene. The vendors are also very arrogant.

Usually consumers just ignore the prices and pay up since there is not many other options once you are on the expressway. Only a few vendors like Datta Snacks/McDonalds/Pizza hut give printed receipts. Most of the local vendor don’t provide any receipts. All transactions are in cash. This money makes its way into black economy. Its also a loss to tax revenue. There is complete apathy when it comes to hygiene and cleanliness.

I am entitled to better facilities along the express way. Especially when I am being charged 4 items the amount of the normal road. At this point, I am not looking for any monetary compensation. However, I would like to see and end to the rampant overcharging and general disregard for all consumer rights.
