Dear Sir/Madam:
I am Sasi Nambissan from New Zealand. When I visited Ernakulam in August / September 2012, I was treated for Hair Regain and growth at “Hair Roots” Maradu, Ernakulam on 25th August. They had advertised claiming that their Hair Tonic product is specially made and imported from Thailand. But no details of the Thai company is displayed anywhere on the bottle of medicine or pamphlets, other than just a word “Thai product”.. There was no proper contract or money back guarantee or planned treatment results and customer expectation charts in this expensive treatment. The “hair roots” establishment is set up Room# 23, 1st Floor, Abad Nucleus Mall at Maradu, Ernakulam -682304. The main contact (Marketing Staff ) is Ms Sumi. She convinced me that they will first of all analyse and assess the scalp scientifically to check if re-growth will be possible or not. And that if it is not viable, will not proceed. So accordingly her technicians assessed and analysed the scalp conditions to confirm that my hair follicles are still live and ok to be treated with their medicines and that I am be assured of hair growth within 3 months and that I will get to see a substantial result in 1-2 months. The medicine (15ml bottle of hair tonic to be consumed in 1-2 weeks) costs Rs5000/-. They suggested to buy medicines for 3 months, in addition to an in house treatment on the day. I spent Rs 42000 in total and after 3 – 4 months started talking to them over the phone during November / December saying that there was absolutely no improvement at all. Ms. Sumi said I was the only person complained about it because every other person who took treatment had good results. I also spoke to other staff who left this company before talking to Ms Sumi where they said they left the company due to customer complaints and in the fear of manual assault from outraged customers. They also said that this company is manly targeting men from gulf and European countries. After talking to her couple of times she managed to say to me that she will speak to the owner (which is her cousin Mr Vinu Kumar, who rarely comes in front of the public) and see that a remedy is effected by way of refunding the money. But no one responded. I also wrote an email on 10th December to both Ms Sumi and Mr Vinukumar) and there was no reply. Later when my wife who is a Medical Oncologist in New Zealand when visited India in Dec/Jan, spoke over the phone to their staff and then with Ms Sumi and Mr Vinukumar and they were trying in vain to convince that it might take an year to see results and that we were supposed to continue treatment further. We again reiterated that we might approach Consumer Protection commission etc, for which they did not have any concrete response. I am now approaching your office in the best interests of myself and also of the public who would be trapped in the false claim publicised by fake companies like “Hair roots”. Please let me know how I should proceed. Please feel free to ask me if you have any other queries. Yours Sincerely Sasi Nambissan
