Citrus Payment Solutions – Application Fees Not Refunded

On Dec 23, 2014, I was doing the application formalities for the NIFT Undergraduate entrance exam, when owing to a server error, the payment of Rs 1415.91 towards the same was deducted from my credit card but was not acknowledged by NIFT. I called the payment gateway partner ‘Citrus Payment Solutions‘ and procured the Transaction reference (Trx Ref) number which I sent to NIFT straightaway asking them to resolve the issue from the backend and complete my application by updating the payment status with the help of the trx ref number (which I believe is very much possible). However they forced me to pay another time and do the application procedure anew, and said they will reconcile later on their own and refund if they find any extra amount (thus paying no attention to the trx ref no I gave them). Since then I have sent them periodic reminders, the first after a week (when they simply said “It will take minimum of 7 to 15 days”), then after 2 weeks and 3 weeks. Now my mails are falling into deaf ears and no one is replying to them. I have even looped in the registrar and other senior members of the Admission Committee, whose email IDs I got from the NIFT website, but to no avail. This is absolutely unacceptable from an Institute of the stature of NIFT, and I don’t know whom to turn to. I now demand a refund and additional compensation for mental harassment if possible.
