The above company sells multi-grain flour. The Company does not disclose the composition of of the flour. On a specific inquiry, the Company has refused to disclose the composition of its multi-grain flour under the pretext of being competitive proprietary information. As a consumer it is my right to know what I am eating. The company should me made to print the proportion of each grain in its multi-grain flour.
Ingredients of food products are legally required to be printed. Non-disclosure of the same is contravention of law. In addition, in absence of information about composition it is not possible to judge whether the Company is charging a reasonable price. The Company is selling its multi-grain flour at a substantial premium over wheat flour. As a consumer I need to know whether the price charged by the Company is justified in view of the composition.
Company should be asked to print teh proportion of each grain in its product.
