Hi, I had ordered a Seagate external HDD from eBay on-line the PaisaPay ID is 36523658446 from eBay. When we received the Hard drive we found that it was defective and was not in working condition from the moment we received it. I immediately contacted eBay and registered a complaint against the hard disk and claim number was 528078 with eBay. This claim for replacement was rejected by eBay saying that the product has manufacturer’s warranty and we need to contact the manufacturer directly or the eBay vendor who has supplied the hard disk to us and eBay has no role to play. We then contacted the eBay vendor to whom eBay had sub-contracted to deliver this hard drive and he told us the same to contact Seagate directly for any issues and they do not have any role to play. I am sorry to learn of the difficulty you are having with your hard drive. Please take note that this hard drive (SN : NA4KHFEQ) is a replacement drive given to another customer not a new build drive. If you just recently purchased the hard drive on ebay we suggest you to refer to the point of sales for one to one exchange.” What Seagate is saying that eBay and its vendor have provided us with a replacement drive and not a new one even though they have charged us for a new drive. They are cheating the consumers by providing second hand drive by charging for new drive and now no one is ready to provide us with a replacement. Please raise a complaint against eBay for cheating us.
The external hard drive provided is not working we have paid around Rs 6000/- for same. Also it is not only a defective piece but also a second hand piece as confirmed by Seagate. We have purchased and paid price of a new device but they have given us a defective second device.
