I am a prepaid user pmshah1946@vsnl.net with the broadband service of Tata Indicom.
On October 13th 2009 I had a credit balance of Rs. 1058/= in my account and zero validity time available for usage. I charged my account with a 90 day extension package which resulted in the validity being extended till 11.01.2010 and available balance being Rs.1058/=.
I also have night unlimited option activated which deducts Rs 299/= from my available balance and allows me unlimited usage from 21:00 hours till 09:00 hours the next morning.
I have not used my internet connection during day time , i.e 09:00 am till 09:00 pm in more than 2 years when the normal usage charges, as currently applicable, would be Rs. 11.26 per hour.
As per calculation of any person with normal intelligence I should be left with a balance of Rs. 161/= on the 11th of January 2010 after 3 installments of Rs. 299/= have been deducted on 13th of October, November and December 2009 provided I have not used the connection during chargeable day time period. As it happens I have had ABSOLUTELY ZERO usage during day time – ( 09:00 hours to 21:00 hours) . As a matter of fact my usage is strictly between 21.02 hours and 08:58 hours which is controlled by an extremely accurate electronic switch. This is also verified by Tata Indicom’s own usage logs. The time is synchonised with internet based atomic time clocks every two hours.
On 15th morning around 3.00 am my account balance was suddenly showing as zero and my access to the internet service has since been severed. There is no responsible or authorized person to redress this grievance. They absolutely refuse to furnish me with itemised details of daily debits and credits in my account. Complaints filed by email evince their standard response quoting a complaint number.
This is strictly a major glitch in their accounting system/package. Perhaps there are a lot more people in same situation as I am but have not known any recourse.
I would very much appreciate your looking into the matter and get some positive response from Tata Indicom.
By the way if you can get them to furnish me with entire history of my account I can almost guarantee you that you will find several past billing errors where I have filed complaints but have not been given any satisfactory answers.
Sincery,
Pradip Shah
