Flipkart.com – Misguiding customers with false reasons

Hi, This is to bring to your notice the issues that I faced with an order that I made. I waited for the countdown of the Xiaomi Mi3 since it showed 3 hours and clicked the Buy Now button as and when the clocked showed 0. I doubt how so many thousands of people click on the buy now button in the blink of an eye. Keeping my apprehensions aside,I wanted to know the status of my order. It was well past 2.30pm and still the order was not ‘confirmed’. I wanted to know the status and I kept trying to call the so-called 24-hour helpline of yours but to no avail. This is by far the worst experience that I have had to face from any online retailer in India. On speaking to customer care people,they claim that they are not aware of any such order and tell that what I saw was an error message. They also asked me to register for the next sale and asked me to clear history of browser and reload the page. The item is being sold out in 2-3 seconds and I wonder how the solution they suggested is possible. They still have not given any updates as to how I may get the product. I wonder how a person can understand that ‘CONFIRMING YOUR PURCHASE’ can be an error message,so I find this claim of theirs very difficult to believe. This is misguiding consumers. I waited for 24 hours without turning off my PC,which I can prove using my screenshots attached. Hence I would like to ensure that I get the phone that I placed an order for,along with compensations for the mental stress and loss of time that I had to face. Note that the sale was on Aug 12 and the screenshot that I have uploaded is of August 13 to prove the 24 hours that I have had to wait for response in confirming the order. Also attaching response of customer care: Dear Anand, Greetings from Flipkart! Product: Mi3 Thank you for your interest in buying from us. We apologize for delay in response, due to high volumes and technical issues we were unable to reach you in time. We are happy you have chosen to shop with Flipkart.com. We certainly understand your concern regarding the product going out of stock within a fraction of moment. We do regret any difficulty of having to wait for the product to come back in stock and finding the same out of stock. With regards to your query we regret to inform you that “Many registrations were done for this phone and is purely based on “First come First Serve basis”. Since the product is currently not in stock and is expected to become available in the next few days. Kindly note that we have received limited stock for this product and by the time you tried to place an order, the stock would have been exhausted. So we request you to wait till you receives the acknowledgement post which you will be able to place the order for the or also receive a notification as soon as the stock becomes available ” however we request you to add the product in your cart on sale day which is happening on 19th Aug 2014.
