recently made an online purchase of LUMIA 520 through FLIPKART from MOBILE CENTRAL through credit card. The audio jack was not functional properly. So, I dropped a mail to seller requesting for a replacement. He asked me for getting a DOA from the NOKIA service center. This is the best part, Nokia executive informed me that “NO MANUFACTURER SHALL GIVE A DOA” it is only a false commitment given by the online retailers to attract customers. “I HAVE THIS ON RECORDING” I informed on the same to FLIPKART they simply said that the seller has declined the replacement. I replied to the mail asking for reason and mentioned about the audio recording I had. Guess what, I was offered with a refund with no explanations asked (KURIAN-Customer relations) MY doubt is if the MANUFACTURER DOES NOT PERMIT A DOA, how is that the seller is committing on the same. NOKIA & FLIPKART as a brand has lost my respect because the product was only a day old.]
I appreciate your response. I would also like to get a confirmation from you that my NOKIA LUMIA 520 (IMEI :358995052571568) was tested and certified by Nokia without a manufacturing defect? Secondly, Are NOKIA service centers authorized to give a DOA- Defect on Arrival for any faulty phone purchased online? Please confirm on the same, do let me know on how a replacement can be arranged for my phone as I had already visited your service center and they had informed me that the audio jack is damaged inside and it is not covered under warranty. The phone was just 1 day old when I approached your service center. If you are telling me that the phone had internal damage and the audio jack was damaged inside. I am challenging you that, it could not have happened during transit. IF it had happened during transit, then how did the other parts of the phone was not damaged like the display for instead. If you would like to tell me that it could have been my fault. Then it would be funny because if I tried inserting the audio jack and your audio jack had broken it simply would show the poor quality of your phone. I would if you could arrange for the replacement and take extra precautions on your retail outlets. Please confirm on the above two questions that I raised. I would like to lodge a formal complaint on the issue of replacement and DOA to the concerned department in the government on flipkart / Mobile Central and Nokia.
