I was using an Idea post paid connection (9911502xxx). In August, 2013, I surrendered my SIM card at Idea showroom in Dilshad Garden (Pocket-O), New Delhi and requested, through a written application, to convert my connection to prepaid. I was given a prepaid SIM card. My prepaid SIM card was never activated. Later, I came to know that I was supposed to pay a bill which generated after submission of the post paid SIM card. This information was never communicated to me at the time of surrendering the post paid SIM card. After some months I got a call from Delhi informing me that I had a pending bill of Rs. 1620. The caller identified herself as a staff from Tis Hazari Court, New Delhi. She gave me a number of a person and asked me to contact him. She said that he was an advocate and he was going to file a case against me for not paying the bills. I did talk to that person and explained that I had paid all my bills and was not aware that a bill would be generated after surrendering the SIM card. Despite informing him that it was not my fault, I paid the amount (Rs. 1620) on 30/12/2013, as I wanted to settle the issue. After that, I requested the customer care executive, over phone, to disconnect my number. I received a sms on 04/01/2014, informing me that my request for cancellation for no. 9911502743 was registered and that action would be taken within 22 hours. The SR No. of my request was C1-13183932945. Then, I paid an amount of Rs. 270 at Sairam Communication, Khanpur, New Delhi (Receipt no.: 18589924, invoice no.: 0153826927). However, on 07/04/2014 (from no. 9891994xxx) and 12/04/2014 (from no. 9891008xxx) I received two calls from Idea informing that there was some pending bills against me and if I don’t pay them then they would file a case against me in the court. The first call was very rude and sounded intimidating. He informed me that my connection was still active and that my payment (Rs. 270) was not received by Idea. Again, on May 17, 2014 (11.41 am), I received a call from Mr. Sikhbir Singh (7503790xxx) informing me that a case is going to be filed against me for not paying those bills. He informed me that he was calling from Patiala Court Information Centre. These calls are mentally harassing me and also I feel intimated. I have saved the sms in my inbox which was sent to me regarding the cancellation of my number. I also have the last money receipt of the bill I paid. The bills are false as I have surrendered my SIM Card and have paid all my due bills. It is totally wrong that they are generating bills even though I am not using the connection.
