I purchased an iPad (4th gen) Wi-Fi, Cellular (MM) from E-zone, Powai center, Mumbai from a sales representative Mr. Irfan Tharadra on 26th January 2014. The product details are as follows: DMPLK2WZF190. I regularly use the iPad for all official emails and presentation purposes. The said iPad is very well maintained and as a user, I ensure that there is no physical damage to the unit as it is my only source of income. On 10th of August, 2014 the iPad would not start and it would display a black screen with some characters written on it. I have enclosed an image of the same with this email. Until such time, there was no physical damage or harsh use of the iPad at anytime. Upon charging the device would develop a Red screen. I brought the iPad to Bangalore and showed it to an Apple Authorized Service Center at Ample Technologies. I have attached the report of the technician Mr. Uday who shared the report with me. According to the technician, the characters on the screen are a result of hardware problem. They have cited the result of physical damage and dents to cause the hardware issue. The report of Ample technologies suggest that I have to make a full payment of Rs. 24914.71 to purchase another iPad in exchange of the current one that is non-working. I escalated the issue to their service center in Singapore. One Ms. Supriya a senior technician came on the call and mentioned that images shared by the local technician in Bangalore suggests that the physical damage is the reason for the hardware problem and the product cannot be exchanged free of cost and I would have to make full payment to buy another iPad which is under warranty.
I would want my non-functional iPad be exchanged with a new one with retrospective effect of me filing the complaint with Ample technologies. I be provided with a new iPad without further delay. I have already had a loss of business because of the delay caused by Ample Technologies and Apple.
