Due to non confirmation of a PQWL seat I had to book tatkal tickets to travel from Coimbatore to Mumbai on 12th of May 2014. The coach was rickety, the seat was torn, the cable junction box on the side upper berth was open and had to run around for someone to fix it. One of the toilet did not have locking mechanism. Half-way down the journey, there was no water supply in the toilets.
Mental trauma due to the junction box and the toilet was too much bear. TTs to whom we complained did not take cognizance of the issue. Railways to ensure safety, security and hygienic accommodation. Why charge etc. For tatkal if proper facility cannot be given. I feel as a token of the difficulties faced, even if refund of the ticket cost is done it is more as a gesture of having heard and are ready to rectify than anything else.
