I have booked tickets for my mother and niece from Vijayawada to New Delhi for 12621 Tamil nadu express today i.e 15/5/2014. As the chart is prepared at 8:30 pm on 14/5/2014, As the reservation counter is close at 8pm in my city. So i thought to cancel the waiting list ticket next day morning. When i went around at 9 pm already there is long queue for ticket booking and tatkal booking, when my turn came around at 12:35pm, the attender given me a shock stating that ticket can’t be cancelled as the train is departed, i questioned him its a waiting list ticket which is not confirmed, how can they take away all the money. I questioned whats the time period to go for refund of ticket amount, he astonishing mentioned after 3 hours of train departure so its should be before by 7:30 am. My question they open the reservation counter at 8am. How can we expect to cancel the ticket. Moreover, cancellation procedure is not mentioned on ticket. Without giving any information regarding the cancellation information on train ticket, how can they simply say cancellation is not possible and take away my hard earned money 2515 Rs. Can anyone guide me.
I waiting for almost 4 hours in a long queue to get the ticket cancelled. waiting is really frustrating. What I want is, cancellation procedure should be mentioned on back side of train ticket so that we won’t be loosing our hard earned money. As well there should be only reservation charge deduction for waiting list ticket that we don’t travel.
