I have a lenovo yoga 13 ultrabook/laptop with serial no EB33073558 purchased from USA. It developed some snag and started switching off automatically after 10-15 min of use. I handed over my laptop to Lenovo authorized service center at Aligarh (at Haryana complex, ramghat road) on 08 Oct 14. Initially they persisted in saying there was no fault in my laptop, and I had to personally go and make them see the fault. The service center guys then changed my motherboard, and in the process the windows crashed (the service center engineer had not given me such an idea, and hence I had not made a recovery for it). The service center guys told me that the laptop is repaired, I will just have to recover windows on it. I requested lenovo to provide me a recovery disc on payment, but after 1 month of dilly-dallying they told me they can’t do so, and I will have to get the recovery disc from US itself. By the time the service center at Aligarh had closed my request mentioning that I don’t have a recovery media. I made a trip to USA this year and had the laptop shown to Lenovo service center there. The revelation was made that it was the Internal Hard disc(128 gb SSD) that was faulty, and not the motherboard. They told me to take my laptop back to the place it was repaired. Now I have come to know that the service center at Aligarh has closed. Also that the hard disc in unavailable in India, and as the warranty period is over, I will have to pay for the hard disc and get it from USA. I am totally frustrated with the service provided by Lenovo. If the company doesn’t own up its mistake, I will make sure that no one of my friend and family buys a Lenovo product in their life.
I want that Lenovo repairs my laptop to a working state, failing that it replaces my laptop with an equivalent model.
