LG -PLASMA TV 42 INCHES – straight thin line on the tv

we have purchased a lg plasma tv 42 inches last year (28august 2012) and just completing 14 months of purchase. it appears a straight thin line on the tv and when i called the customer care they said that it can be rectified only after paying the price since the warranty is over (one year). is it so that i need to pay for the same because the warranty period is just over for an item of rs.36000/-. the part to be replaced may cost about 15000-18000.

i hope it is not justifiable to pay rs.18000/- for repairing of a product in just one year and i request the company to set right the problem with the replacement of the item at free of cost. one year warranty means, is it not the responsibility of the company if the product is damaged after one year one day. the cost of the product is rs.36000/-
