Tibetian winter clothing market temporarily setup at my city (Bhadrak, Odisha) to sell winter clothing. Today i visited the said market and purchased a jersy costing Rs.540. On asking the bill for the same the shopkeeper said they do not have any bill book and told me that all over India they used to sell these cloths without bill. As a true citizen of India it is my duty to inform you that these traders are trading openly without paying any sell tax to GoI. It is my sincere request that i may please be appraised why my government (GoI) is deprived of getting tax from these guys. i have been taught from your advertisements that every consumer has right to ask for bill for the items they purchase. If it is so why i am deprived from getting bill from these traders. Again I want to make it clear that there is nothing personal against these traders. I want to be clear of my consumer rights whether i am protected by consumer protection act or not. Kindly do the needful.
I need to know the action taken against these traders so that my fellow consumers and me can be assured that we are protected by consumer protection act of India. If not I alongwith others will loose faith on the said act and will be very disappointed.
