This is to bring into your kind attention that we received 2 emails from Reliance Telecom (SEE BELOW) advising us on the “Non Payment of Service Charges” for the services that have not been used by us. The email looked like a spam to us until we received a Pre Litigation notification today (FROM RELIANCE) which advises us to appear before the Lok Adalath, Bangalore on the 9th of June 2014. This caused severe distress to us and we decided to investigate further into the matter. We are residents of Australia for the past 4 years and have not been using any services of Reliance Communication since 2009 as per our memory. Why are we sent such random emails all of a sudden? We responded to one of these emails a few weeks ago but our email bounced back which made us believe that the emails are not legitimate. Upon contacting Reliance Customer Care yesterday 12 May 2014, we were advised that the Phone number mentioned on the emails does not belong to us and that it belongs to someone named “Adi Raju” who registered for this mobile number in November 2006. We requested the customer service representative to provide us with contact details of the concerned department who we could seek assistance from as the CSR was equipped with minimal information. This matter has gone beyond our imagination and we are seeking legal advice to deal with this appropriately. A formal complaint has also been registered on www.ConsumerComplaints.in against Reliance Communications for such threatening messages. We hereby request you to look into the matter soon.
