I had purchased a Samsung “Galaxy Grand” mobile phone on 15.04.2013. After some months of purchase, teething problems started with the phone but was managebale, so I didn’t complain. The problem of “hung screen” became grave in Jan’14 and I submitted the phone at their service centre on 31st Jan’14 which was returned to me on 1st Feb’14 after repair. The same complaint recurred after 2-3 weeks and I submitted the phone for repair on 12th Mar’14 again. The phone was returned to me on 15th Mar’14 after repair. While delivery of phone, I was advised by samsung service staff to replace the SIM card, which I did in next two days. But the complaint recurred in 10 days again and with same gravity & more frequency. Fed up with the phone I wrote to samsung customer support on 2nd Apr’14 for refund of money. They advised me to submit my phone at their service centre once again to facilitate refund of money. I submitted the phone to them on 4th Apr’14 but later they have denied to refund and are insisting me to accept the repaired phone again. My phone is with them since 4th Apr’14.
I wanted refund of money for the defective phone. But Sumsung is insisting me to accept and use the repaired phone. They have offered my additional warranty of 3 months, which is not acceptable to me. I don’t want run around their service centre for 3 more months. I requested them to refund the money in case the problem recurred during the additional 3 months warranty period, which they have turned down, meaning that they themselves don’t trust their product/service quality and hence the problem will surely recur. Hence, I served them a legal notice on 5th July’14 through my lawyer, to which they have replied with same arrogance and adamency saying that they can only provide 3 months additional warranty and nothing else. I, having stated my grievance most truthfully, look forward to – 1. Refund of money and samsung to take my phone back 2. samsung to pay me the cost of legal notice I have paid to my lawyer 3. and I leave for judges to decide the compensation for loss of my professional integrity, performance & mental harassment.
