Hi, My husband bought this phone Sony Xperia Go from www.Snapdeal.com on 23rd March, 2013 after watching it’s advertisement which we found misleading when we use the handset. The advertisement which can be found on the manufacturer’s website http://www.sonymobile.com/in/products/phones/xperia-go/ shows that this handset, sony xperia go mobile is durable and strong enough for life’s little problems. In the advertisement it is shown that phone does not get damaged when it falls on the floor from a table and is dust proof and water proof. In reality screen of the cell phone got damage by fall when I misplaced the phone on table. I took the phone to the service centre of Sony Xperia. The front desk people take a look at the handset and to my shock I was told this is a physical damage and is not covered under warranty. When I say that the advertisement says that this phone is durable, so they say that warranty covers if the handset is damaged by dust and water. They say the repair cost is around INR 15000/- (Which is actually more that what I pay for the new handset as I have bought the phone through a deal from Snapdeal) which actually makes no sense to get the screen repaired. After escalating issue on e-mail to customer care of Sony Xperia company and it’s management we got a response to get the handset checked and service centre. After informing them about our experience at their service centre they asked for my number but I haven’t received any response from them. As per me advertisement is misleading, giving the impression that this phone requires 0 care or will not be damaged under normal circumstances. The only reason I bought this handset as I have a small kid and I want a durable handset. But in reality the phone is damaged when I was placing this phone on table and didn’t placed it properly and it’s screen got damaged.
