I am writing with regards to the extremely dissatisfactory post sales service from Sony. I had given my laptop (Model Number SVS13112ENS IN5. for repair on the 12th of March 2014. The Job No. is as follow J40510275 at a service centre In Jaipur Rajasthan. (Customer Name Jitendra Krishna Goel) And here is a series of events that happened: 12th March 2014: We submit our Laptop and Confirm with the Center manager as to when we can have a delineative Ans. He say he will take 3 days to evaluate the laptop and get back to us. On letting him know that we cant leave the laoptop for that long he says Mandatory Charges for the Laptop would be 250+taxes. just because he has turned around the laptop 360 Degrees anyway We decide to Leave the Laptop and have it fixed. 14th March 2014: We hear back from the service centre that one of the Part’s is not functioning properly (Namely the Mother Board) and that needs to be replaced.Surprisingly our warranty had lapsed days earlier. He Says that he will request the company to Get this working without a charge and will take a couple of days to get approvals. 17th Of march: we call he says he is still waiting for approvals: 20th Of march: We call he says he is still waiting for approvals: 22nd Of march: We call and he is still waiting for Approvals: 24th Of March: The Service centre manager informs us that he has finally got approvals and he will now order the part from Delhi and should have our laptop delivered within 3 days 28th of March We Call the centre our laptop is still not ready and the service centre gives a commitment that we can have it collected Monday since the part is on its way. 31st Of March: We call The service centre the laptop is still not ready and the centre has informed us that it would take them another 4 days to replace the part and finally give us back the laptop. We decide to call up the phone numbers to complain about the service level. And realize that India Does not stock parts of our laptop and they need to be ordered from Singapore/Malaysia. So in short we are stuck without our laptop( a critical component of our lifestyle) for the last 18 days without any proper information on when we are likely to receive it. In addition to my utter surprise i find out the Sony India does not have a inventory management system which keeps a minimum inventory level for all parts ready available in India. Further They have now asked for another 10 days to resolve the issue. The laptop has been with the service centre for over 30 days now.
1) Want my Laptop Back 2) Want economic compensation for the loss of work and the mental stress the service providers have caused duie to all the back and forth and unkept promises
