I travelled in Nellai Express (12631) from Chennai to Madurai in 3rd AC coach on 9 th May 2014. During Sleep, I felt some irritation on my index finger. When I woke up, I was shocked to see a rat biting my finger and I was bleeding. Some other passenger also had this same experience of rat biting his toe nail on the same day and one of the passenger’s bag has also bitten by the rat. This shows the poor maintenance of coaches by southern railways. If this is the situation in AC coach, think about the sleeper coaches. I am filing this so that passengers should not suffer like this.
