Standard Charted Bank – Wrong Charged on Credit Card

1) I made a purchase for Samsung Phone from Flipkart for amount 30,345 with following offer: a) The amount would be converted to 12 month EMI (with zero processing fee) if the purchase was made from Standard Chartered Bank b) 15% cash back 2) I received the phone delivery on 19-April-2013 3) on 09-May-13, Flipkart emailed me to say that “Due to a technical problem in the payment system, the EMI conversion for your Samsung Mobile order is being delayed. We are very sorry about this problem and we are constantly working with the bank to fix this issue at the earliest. If you receive your credit card statement for the full amount of this purchase, please pay the first EMI amount. Any additional interest charges that you incur on your credit card on this transaction due to this delay will be reversed by the bank post the EMI conversion. You may contact us in case the bank fails to reverse the charges and we will take the appropriate action. All other terms and conditions during the purchase of your phone remain unchanged.” 4) The bank however didn’t convert the amount into EMI and charged me for full amount for May-13 statement. As per flipkart, they asked me to make the payment for 1 EMI (2525.75), however I made the payment for amount 3000/= Issues: a) They charged an additional over limit fee of 500/= (this is because I had the limit of 30,000 on my card. Because the bank didn’t convert this into EMI, they charged me this amount) 5) Next, the EMI has not yet been converted till date. there have been over 25 email conversations between me and Standard Chartered where sometime flipkart and bank have confirmed that the EMI conversion would be done and now the latest one is that the bank says that NO EMI conversion can be done. 6) The bank has been continuously charging me Finanace Charges for partial Payment and Flipkart on the other hand is doing nothing to fix up this matter. 7) I have all conversation proofs on email and can produce them whenever required.

1) Flipkart and Standard Chartered need to work and have the purchase converted to EMI 2) All additional charges that the bank has charged so far should be reverted 3) Flipkart and Standard Chartered Bank are Liable to pay additional compensation for the mental this all has caused me for past 4 months.
