Tikona – Charging for the services despite no internet connectivity

I paid around Rs.2600 for Tikona’s broadband services (Installation and advance recurring charges)in September. However, the internet connection hardly worked due to unavailability of network (as mentioned by Tikona’s engineer on his visit). Even after complaining consistently, the problem was not resolved and everytime i received an sms from the company mentioning the complaint has been resolved. Further, i asked the customer care to disconnect my services on September 27. They confirmed disconnection after one week, billing another amount of more than Rs.1000 for November, which i refused to pay and asked them to refund me the money for September instead. That did not happen of course. In January, i received a call from a person, mentioner herself as a lawyer and told me that Tikona has moved to court for my defaulting and the case against me has been given go ahead from the court to be registered. And the case will be registered in 15 minutes. Therefore, i will have to come to Mumbai for the proceedings. She asked me to settle the case by paying Rs. 3089 more in order to do away the unnecessary headache and further fine which could go up to Rs.1,50,000 Therefore, i paid the said amount to avoid the case against me for the time being.

I discussed about this problem with the tenants living on the 1st floor of the same building who said they are also experiencing the same problem with Tikona. Many other people have mentioned the same thing about this company. Therefore, i want maximum possible compensation from Tikona for cheating me and charging me bills unnecessarily.
