Umi Mobile – Failure to provide repairs service

I had ordered UMIX2 model on 8th March 2013 by making full payment with expectations that I would get delivery by 20th March as promised by company on their website. Actual delivery of the product received after 5 months in August 2013 after filing complaint with “CORE”. My handset screen damaged on 1st March. I contacted company for repairs. After two mails and two calls, company responded on 18th March that company do not have spares and will take time and company shall inform me once spares are available. I sent two reminder mails on 28th March and 9th April. For exceptional delay I asked company to refund me cost of handset cost if company is unable to provide timely service. Vide mail dated 16th April company refused to refund cost of handset and again informed that spares are not available with the company and company shall update me once spares are available. I responded to company’s mail stating that I cannot wait for more and asked for cost towards standby handset since company failed to repair my handset. On 17th April company again refused refund cost of my handset and mentioned that UMI India shall send me intimation very soon to send handset to get it repaired. However till date I have not received any mail from the company and company stopped responding to my mails.

Company should refund cost of handset Rs 14000/- since company failed to provide repair service. Company should also pay cost of standby hand set purchased due to delay from the company for providing repairs service.
