Recently I missed out a payment on one of my number +91 9874782xxx. This was not in my radar as I was not using this number lately to the extend I used to. The amount I owe is as mere as Rs 1000.00. I got a few recent calls from Vodafone and as recent as today morning, I had someone visiting my premise for the payment. I was in a hurry, and told this gentleman (Mr Jha: Mob: 9051348xxx) that I would clear this outstanding on Saturday as am off on that day and my office computer is having some technical problem in connecting to the Vodafone website. Therefore I was unable to pay online for last few days during the week. He agreed to my suggestion and left. To my surprise, I get a text from Vodafone on my primary number : (+91 9007277xxx) confirming, outgoing calls have been withdrawn due to non payment on Mobile no 9874782xxx. The same text was sent to all my numbers and the outgoings were barred. Despite the fact all payments were cleared on the other numbers. My mother who uses the number (+91 9830127xxx) is a cancer patient. She was unable to communicate to me nor was I able to do the same. All these numbers had their outgoing barred because of a non payment on some other number which is in my name. I hope you understand the degree of seriousness in communicating with my mother. I find this quite absurd. The similar instance had happened with me couple of months back with another number of mine. I raised the issue then with the nodal office and they reverted to me confirming, there shall be no re-occurrence of the similar incident. (Attached communication confirming the same) I went through the entire Customer Agreement Form (CAF) in detail, this also do not suggest any such clause which confirms that Vodafone Eastern Limited has the reasons to discontinue services of active mobile numbers where dues are cleared, for non payment of another number which is held by the same customer. (CAF enclosed for reference) TRAI and DOT do not support such acts and confirms such needs to be communicated to the customer clearly in the CITIZEN CHARTER. Such charter is also not present in Vodafone’s website
