I booked an Air India ticket (Makemytrip ID: NF22021 49064612) from Hyderabad to Ranchi via Delhi to travel on 24 Feb. Due to change in plans, I call Makemytrip helpline on 22 Feb to cancel ticket from Delhi to Ranchi. I specify many times that Hydbad to Delhi ticket should remain unchanged. I am assured that only one ticket has been cancelled. At the airport on 24 Feb, I am told that Makemytrip cancelled both my tickets. I go to a Makemytrip counter who don’t help me at all. I call helpline and am told that nothing can be done and a new ticket should be booked. I book a new ticket and travel to Delhi. Same day I raise a complaint with Makemytrip. Executives just cut the call when they are unable to give answers. I get no response from Makemytrip after a few days and call them to check status of complaint. I am om the phone for over 2 hours and am offered only a partial refund. I refuse it. The team promises a call back but I receive none. I call back on 28th Feb and I am told that because it is a Saturday, the supervisors are on leave. I still have not received a satisfactory response from them.
I spend Rs. 6628 on the first ticket from Hyderabad to Ranchi. I again spend Rs. 11454 on the second new ticket from Hyderabad to Delhi. Apart from that, I have been on the phone for over 10 hours trying to explain my situation to the team. I have spent money on phone calls to Makemytrip. I have also had to face the agony of their executives just cutting the calls when I would explain the problem.
