I have my father and mother covered under medical insurance by my employer, HCL Technologies. It’s the first time, I happened to hassle with an insurance. My father got afflicted with Macular Degeneration which renders the patient almost blind in the affected eye. I have consulted with a couple of renowned Ophthalmologist who eventually suggested that “Lucentis” injection needs to be induced in the eye to recover the vision. However, my pre-authorisation claim has been denied on grounds that my policy doesn’t cover it.

Whatever cost has been suggested by hospital be borne by my medical insurance policy. Plus, the policy should mention what is covered and what is not for medicine. Because a human never dices the ailment to be suffered.
