Reliance Tele – termination request dealy in refund

I had placed the termination request for my Netconnect broadband connection – Datacard Number: 93812 72xxx on 14th December 2013 at the Anna Nagar Reliance store in Chennai (Request ref: SR213562557). At the time, I was told to make a payment of Rs.440 as final settlementfor closure which I did and I have attached the receipt for the same – made at the store. But on Dec 20th – which is my usual bill generation date, I got one generated for the usual amount (Rs.533.71) – without taking into consideration the Rs.440 that I had paid at the store. I took the word from the store that Rs.440 that I had paid was the final settlement and was under the impression that this bill would eventually be corrected and the outstanding made zero. Hence I did not make the payment against this bill. But there was another bill that got generated on 7th of Jan that added a further ~Rs.17 and total amounted to Rs.550.93. And on 11th of Jan, to my surprise got a demand notice through one of your lawyers that I had not made any payment. Thats when I rushed to a store and then eventually spoke to your appellate call center who told me that this payment of Rs.440 was not effected against my account. I would strongly state that this is no fault of mine. I have now settled the final outstanding of Rs.550.93 via online payment on 11th of Jan and I have attached the acknowledgement for the same to avoid getting any further sickening communication that I have defaulted on payment. I would now need the Rs.440 that I had paid at the store to be refunded to me ASAP – given that I have settled all my dues and the service is now terminated. I want this via cheque addressed to my registered address. I would also like to strongly register my frustration especially at have been made to run from pillar to post for termination. I have brought a number of my friends to take the Reliance connection over the years and I must say that you(Reliance) have let me down. 1. I want to know how may days did Reliance take to stop my service after my request on 14-Dec. Did it happen as per TRAI mandate? 2. I also want to know what happened to the Rs.440 that I paid at the store – which according to the store staff was the final amount that I had to settle. 3. And more importantly I want to know when I will get Rs.440 back – I am sure there must be some TRAI mandate on how soon such matters are to be settled. Please come back if you have any questions.
