Consumers have rights that some Institutions elect to ignore. I have tried repeatedly, through conversations and letters, to reach a solution regarding my problems with CHANDIGARH HOUSING BOARD, located at SECTOR 9 in CHANDIGARH. Finally, having no other place to turn, I am writing to you. I had applied for the transfer of my Dwelling Unit in March 2010. I did not anticipate any problems based upon my mother’s representations, which included interview held in the CHB office, submission of all relevant documents and deposit of transfer fee on demand note of the C.H.B. However, CHANDIGARH HOUSING BOARD did not adhere to their commitment of issuing transfer letter in my name. After making The Secy, CHANDIGARH HOUSING BOARD aware of my dissatisfaction, all I heard was it is in pipe line. No consumer should be subject to such a blatant display of bad official working practices. I ask only when all the necessary formalities has been completed and requisite Transfer fee deposited on demand note, why and what is delaying the issue of transfer letter, every time I approached the C.H.B never got any authentic reply. The irony is even the dealing office Assistant has taken the bribe money, but did not clear my file and demanded more bribe for other concerned officials, that too without any assurance . I need to know that is there any government officials who have the power to enforce the law and preserve my rights and those of other consumers.

My mother had slipped in the Chandigarh Housing Board Office on 9th March 2010 on the day of Interview and had fractured her spine and right Arm,she was hospitalized and remained bedridden for almost one year,resulting in her death on 20th Feb 2011.I am feeling helpless and face great trauma,due to frustration, resulting in highpertension and suffering from High B.P and diabetics

When all the formalities have been completed, interview by the Deptt has been materialised,transfer money deposited. Why the Chandigarh Housing Board is not issuing the transfer letter.I had to borrow money to fund the transfer fee approx 4 Lacs,deposited with C.H.B. I want that the transfer be executed and transfer letter issued issued at the earliest.
