Reliance Life Insurance – Misleading us in Quality of Policy

I am Ishwari Dutt, employee of Employee State Insurance Corporation. This complaint is with reference to the Life Insurance Policy vide no 16775135 of Reliance Life Insurance. I would like to bring your kind attention towards misleading us by the employee’s of the concerned company in issue. In financial year 2009-2010 (March 2010) we wanted to opt for a single premium plan policy and we took a policy of Reliance Life Insurance. Few days later I received Insurance Policy Document and after reading it carefully we got to know that they handed us Regular Premium Plan so I visited the concerned branch (Address:…………………………………………) and spoke to the concerned person then he addressed my grievance by saying that it will not affect your intended benefit and you will get your money back on Net Asset Value and I kept faith in him but by the end of next financial year i.e. 31st March 2011 I received intimation letter from the company about premium due then again I contacted with the same concerned person for clarification of aroused issue he said if you do not want to pay your premium you do not pay but your policy will foreclose and you will get your money back by March 2013 and we trusted him completely again. Finally this year we could crystallize our policy and we were looking to have some appreciation in our deposited amount but when I went there to have my money back with accrued benefit of paste 3 financial years I was shocked because they said now you will have to pay surrender charges and service tax and eventually we had a loss of Rs 47000 thereafter I talked to that concerned person he retracted his whole statement he said it was not my fault what maximum I can do to recover your losses is to invest you policy again for a horizon of 5 years we were agreed on to the condition that if you help us to get our surrender charges back we will invest it again on Net Asset Value then he wrote a mail to head office but nothing positive occurs he did all possible efforts to retain our money but we asked for our money back. Though we got our money back but we did not get what we were expecting. I just want to know about the criteria on which they give policy to the policy holders so that I cans assess about their dishonest motive. I am shocked of the fact that such a renounced company has this type of pool of employee’s. My annual income that time was around 4 lacs p.a. so how they could give me a policy of a premium of Rs 2,00,000 p.a. I am sure that they did it intentionally for their personal interest by putting our money on stake. Every unsatisfied customer has more multiplier effect than the satisfied one it may hamper the integrity or loyalty of the company which may ruin their goodwill in long run. I can sense collusion between the agents and their superior’s for their own interest. More than satisfying a customer they look forward to bag the customer’s money. At last I want very strict action against them and reimbursement of our loss because even if it was a negligence of staff during clerical work ultimately we are the receiving end. Now ever body is trying to escape their liability and no one is redressing our grievances. Looking forward for hear from you.
