Air India – Denied to board the flight, even after being on time

First of all I am sorry for filing a complain so late. I did not get time to visit the consumer court in New Delhi, because i do not reside in Delhi & I got to know about the online registration of complain recently. The complain is as follows- On 30th Oct, 2013 my family had to leave from Terminal 3, New Delhi IGI Airport at 6:55 AM(original time being 6:10 AM, which was rescheduled). At 6:05 AM the passengers reached the check In counter and the person sitting there told them to wait, since he was busy in attending other guests. When the passengers told him that he should hurry up since their flight is supposed to leave at 6:55 AM, he saw the tickets and told them that they should not worry and should calm down & assured that they will catch their flight. After waiting for around 10 min, the passengers again went to him and said that they are getting late. He again made them wait for around 5 minutes. The passengers then argued with him. Other people sitting at the counter did not respond to the passengers and sat idle doing nothing and told the passengers the other guy would do it.He then told them to get the luggage weighed till the time he is done with the existing guests. The same thing could have been communicated to them at the starting as well. When the passengers went to get the luggage weighed, the people standing over there told them that they are late and the gates have been closed. The passengers went to the check In counter again. The person standing at the counter left from there stating that he could not do anything. He was the same person who assured the passengers that they will catch their flight. There was no one standing over there to guide them. It was only second time they were travelling through an airline. There were no last minute calls or announcements for the passengers. Someone standing over there told them to see the duty manager. When they went to the duty manager, he himself did not know that the flight has been rescheduled and left from there saying that they are late without even coordinating with his own staff. The Air India staff did not even show the courtesy to the passengers, even when 2 of them were females and one of them was a minor. The passengers also showed them the papers that had enough evidence to prove that the minor girl had an appointment with the doctor in Chennai on the same day and that they can not miss it since it is very urgent. The Air India staff still did not arrange anything for them. They did not even arrange their departure in the next scheduled flight to Chennai, which I suppose was their responsibility. My concern is that the passengers reached the check In counter well before the scheduled time and were never late. They showed up on the right time. It was the mistake of Air India staff that made them wait and hence they got late. It is a clear case of mismanagement & inattentiveness from The Air India staff. CCTV footage can be used to prove my words. The

I am looking forward to the Consumer court to help me get my money spent on the purchase of extra tickets, which costed me another Rs. 32000 approx. In addition to this I am looking for some compensation against the mental and physical stress that has been caused to us.
