Consumer no. 48-3-634840 at H 387, HIG Duplex, Ayodhya Nagar, Bhopal After the very first abnormal reading of 1328 units, amounting to Rs. 9,638, a complaint was lodged on 2.5.2013. The meter was found faulty, and was changed after some days, the next bill for May 2013 was for the consumption of 1543 units, amounting to Rs. 11,260. The bill for the month of June was for a consumption of 25,631 units, for a staggering amount of Rs. 1,93,421! The bill for the next month, July, 2013, was also for 511 units, amounting to Rs. 3,464. The obvious error for the month of June was corrected, and a total discount of Rs. 2,01,799 (Rs. 1,94,092 for June, 2013, along with Rs. 7,707) was given. It is clear that the reading had become exorbitantly high due to the faulty meter, which was subsequently replaced. However, it is impossible to deduce whether credit for a proper amount has been given or not, as no details have been furnished till date despite repeated verbal requests. No written requests are now been entertained.
Despite repeated requests suitable credit for the excessive charges levied under the heads of Fixed Charges, Energy Charges, Electricity Duty, Fuel charges, etc., has still not been given for the erroneous billing for the 4 months. Moreover, no credit has been given for the unduly charged Surcharge on Arrears. As the extra amount charged is over Rs. 20,000, it is requested that suitable credit may please be given.
