Omsai packers – delivered damaged condition goods poor service

I booked Omsai packers and movers (GOVERNMENT REGISTRATION NO.SG-33073/4443) to transport my household goods from Jamshedpur to Bangalore(Docket No: 0354, Booking Date: 01/04/2014, from Jamshedpur to Bangalore, Vehicle No: JH05AN – 3856). I paid for the full load transportation(booking the full truck). The goods were loaded in the truck in Jamshedpur on 1st April, 2014. They promised to deliver the same in 7-8 days to Bangalore but I received my goods on the night around 11pm. of May 7th, 2014 i.e. after 36 days in a really messed up and damaged condition. Most of the cartoons were torned, almirah was broken and full of scratches, computer table is completely wrecked off, cooler was damaged, TV table glass was broken, all furniture’s had scratches, refrigerator was not working, trunk is also badly damaged with few goods missing also., The delivery guy told us that a person from the company will come and assess the damage for claiming the insurance (that their company provided with a cost detailed in the attached bill). But with regular follow ups including emails and calls also, they did not respond. Earlier they told that the goods is getting delayed due to election and then they informed that the truck piston got damaged so they will shift the goods to another truck and deliver the goods. Then we came to know they put our goods in a truck which was carrying some plywoods (they shared my goods with other’s) whose paper was not proper and the truck was seized by forest department, than they told it is seized by sales tax department and they have paid the fine to they and will deliver the goods in another 1 day as the location they are mentioning about the truck is Ranipet which is some 250 kms. from Bangalore but still they delivered the goods after some 12 days. They were continuously mis informing us about the actual date of delivery of goods. This has caused serious discomfort for us both mentally and financially.

We need 2 remedies: 1) Reimbursement of all the damaged/ spoilt goods. Apprceoximate cost of the damage is Rs. 25,000 2) Reimbursement for all the mental agony and sufferings that we faced because of deficiency of service in delivering the goods on time (as asured) as well as for the continuous mis-leading information for all those days.
