Service to my Datacard Airtel 3G Datacard no.: 8105866616 is disconnected on 2-Jan-2013 without any prior notice. The reason given is ” address verification failure”. Earlier on 07-Dec-2012, Airtel appellate officer sent following note confirming completion of address verification: “Further, we also like to inform you that the services of the above mentioned airtel data card number was temporarily disconnected on 05 December 2012 due to address verification has been rejected and the also the services was resume on 06 December 2012 after the verification has been done.” Moreover similar note I received by other Airtel officers. I believe service to my Datacard was activated after address verification as per the guideline by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Then why intermittent disruption in service and finally disconnection of service happened to the datacard no. 8105866616? My concerns are: 1. Are TRAI guidelines followed by Airtel for activation, continuation and finally disconnection of service for the datacard number 8105866616? If yes, how? If no, why? 2. As address verification is the ground of disconnection. Why Airtel did not re-initiate address verification?
Airtel should follow norms set by TRAI and put measures in place, up to my and other such customers’ satisfaction, to stop such error in future. I need the certified copy of such measures from Airtel.
