Dear sir/mam, it would be pertinent to mention here that my airtel prepaid number 8283000551 is getting barred again and again, as the above mentioned telecom company is scamming their customers by subjecting poor hardware sim cards. the first incident took place on Feb 22,2013. i wrote to the customer care, they said me to get issued an duplicate sim card on payment of rs. 25/- alongwith re-verification of proof and signature id’s at Airtel relationship centre. after i stepped in the airtel relationship centre, i came to know that the duplicate sim card issuing charges vary from person to person within the range of 200/- to 50/-. i referenced them of my conversation with an airtel customer care executive, who was stating the charges to be 25/- but they stated the extra charges as courier charges that a customer have to bear in order to send his/her proof to chandigarh head office. At last, i settled with them on payment of rs. 50/- for issuing the duplicate sim card, on feb 26,2012. the services got resumed within 2-3 hours. the second incident took place after 5 days of issuing the duplicate sim card. the same problem happened again. i once again wrote to customer care executive and he was not able to address my issue and advised me to visit the relationship centre again. kindly note, this is the second time complaint submitted through this portal, as airtel respondent didn’t give a proper resolution in previous conversation. if no suitable compensation is provided by the respondents, then i’ll have to move on to the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum to register my grievance.
