I had given a request to Airtel for cancellation of my mobile number 9008133xxx on 22nd Feb 2014. The reference number I was given was 55220267. I received a response for the email I sent on 22nd Feb 2014. The response was: Namaste Amitabha Sen, This is with reference to your request for stopping airtel mobile number 9008133xxx. We sincerely hope you reconsider your decision to stop your connection. To address your current request, we have registered your request for cancellation. Your Reference number is 55220267. Please quote this in any future communication. Our team will contact you with in 07 days with an update on the same. There is no monthly rental from the date of stop request raised and the call charges will be applicable, as per the usage. Rental and discount applicable will be calculated on pro-rata basis. Your next bill would be generated on 20-03-2014. After this email, I never received any confirmation call from Airtel. Today (15th March 2014) when I called customer care they said their records indicate that “I had received a call from Airtel and I informed the representative that I will retain the number” which is absolutely false statement. The last billed amount was: Bill period : 20-Jan-2014 to 19-Feb-2014 Amount due : 491.58 due date : 11-Mar-2014 Deposit amoumt: 300 Can you please look into this issue and help me get this mobile number cancelled and the billing setteled.
