Airtel Excess & unfair billing for usage of internet on postpaid mobile connection.

I am user of airtel postpaid connection more than 4 yrs now. I pay my bills regularly much before due date. For the first time i am facing a billing problem in the last months(June 2013) usage. Suddenly I have received a message last month from Airtel that ‘ your total bill amount is approaching your credit limit’.I was shocked by seeing the message as I have not made huge calls or availed any other services that my my bill amount would be such huge(approx 4000/) then I went to the Airtel connect(Customer center) at bapuji nagar,bhubaneswar where in they have connected me to the customer care. Customer care replied that i have been activated with zero rental internet plan so the charges are high. They have again suggested to go for 199/ unlimited internet plan to avoid such future huge billings ,I immediately opt for it. So my concern is – I am not a new user of internet services of airtel ,how come the billing become so high in a particular month(June)despite of same use as other previous months. – What is zero rental plan and different other plans?which is best suitable plan for me.It is the duty of the service provider to make us aware(at least to the old customers) about different plans. which was not shared. – In this competitive market how can a service provider can charge so much(Rs 3000/) for such minimal use where in other service providers offering unlimited access to internet with a minimum charges of Rs 200 – Rs 500/.Even Airtel has the option of unlimited internet plan with Rs 199/,but still charging so high & not disclosing about unlimited plans. -As per Airtel’s statement I am charged Rs 3000/ for mobile internet usage and the payable amount is Rs 2500/ after discount of Rs 500/.

They have also confirmed that even if the bill amount reaches upto Rs 5000/ then also the payable amount will be Rs 2500/ in such scenario.This is very unethical to charge so much in the initial use and then giving such heavy discounts.Here the sufferer is the customer who is using very less services like me and have to pay hefty bills for less usage. – After several requests,reminders & follow up for long time they have send me the item wise statement for usage of internet few days back after denying to provide the required statement several times.
