Airtel – Fibernet Plus Excess Billing – Review

Dear Sir / Madam, I would like to inform you that I had booked the Airtel Broadband Connection via online and had opted for the Fibernet Plus 15GB plan bearing monthly rental – Rs.1299/- on 7th June, 2014. I got the confirmation about the activation and installation of the services within two working days. However, the connection was installed only on 16th June, 2014. Even after all that, I chose to stick with Airtel, but I was really very disappointed when I received my first bill in which I was charged at Rs. 1449/- for the same services. I also placed a complaint for the same on 11th July, 2014. For which I got a reply on 12th July, 2014 by the Nodal Officer, Bharti Airtel Ltd stating that they have overcharged due to wrong plan activation and have refunded Rs. 200 back for the same. In the email it is also mentioned that Airtel sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience caused and it will be ensured that such kind of issue will not occur in future. However, when I received my second bill dated: 6th August, 2014 I was again over charged at Rs. 1449/- this has happened even after getting a written commitment from Airtel. I paid the bill (over charged) for that month. Further, the same thing continued till I received my latest bill dated: 6th October, 2014 the payment for which also has been made. I have done my part without any negligence each & every time. Being into business, it is hard for me to find time to call Airtel Customer Care, every now & then and get my issues solved. I got a written declaration from Airtel regarding their mistake and still it is continued, which hurts me. For such a reputed company like Airtel, even after being notified such mistakes shouldn’t have repeated. This issue has caused me a lot of mental suffering. I want to bring the wrong doing of such a big and reputed company to all the citizens of the nation. I want this case to set a benchmark for the all the consumers who face same kind of issue by their service providers and also as a lesson to the service providers not to take the request and complaints of their consumers lightly. Strict rules should be imposed where companies if found to be negligent on the consumer’s request be fined so that they make sure to treat its consumer’s with utmost care & responsibility. I wish to continue with the service if they rectify their mistake and also I need compensation as this has caused me mental stress & also have consumed much of my time.
