I have a mobile no. Connection from Airtel 98187866XX in my name, used by my name. For last few months including the latest month, I am receiving inflated bills from Airtel for this number. This number is used by my mother in law who is over 65 years of age, her total usage is less than 3 hours in a month and cannot even type a text message. But as per Airtel records she is sending more than 1000 messages in a month, rather 2690 messages in the month of May. Interestingly as per Airtel all these messages are sent to one single number I.e. mine 9818986644 (registered in the name of my husband), while I stay on the same house as my mother in law. Further neither she is sending any message, her phone is not showing any message in sent or outbox and I am not seeing any message in my inbox but Airtel is recording it. How is it possible that someone who does not send a single SMS is sending thousands of messages to one single number to a person living in the same house. Instead of checking technical errors at their end they are constantly harassing us to pay up. We did pay feb and march bill in ignorance but have stopped paying now. We are constantly registering a complaint with Airtel but no resolution. They are not even recognizing the problem and not even letting to reach nodal officer as every time we call they say they will call back but no one calls. Also she is not subscribed for 3G, yet the latest bill shows 3G usage.

Other than Economic loss of paying inflated bills, I am being harassed. I have given a birth to a child 20 days ago so u can imagine if am writing to you, how harassed I must be feeling. I have 7 numbers of Airtel in my house being used by different family members for more than 10 years and all are post paid connections. We pay significant amount to Airtel every month so why would not like to pay if this demand was genuine. They are absolutely trying to loot us by fraudulently inflating the bills.
