airtel outgoing connection not being renewed inspite of updated payment

I have been using airtel connection since 2001. I lost my cell on 10th July’09 and had locked the sim the same day. I came back from tour on 12th July’09 and went to airtel city cetre office and got a duplicate sim with a committment that my services would be activated within 24 hours. However, it took 48 hours to activate that too only the incoming calls. Since then I have been moving from pillar to post, calling almost all their customer care exectives in the last two weeks, sending emails /faxes to all their officials but with no repsonse. Please help me out of this situation as this cannot go on like this as because we are using their connection. The said no. is on of the important no. for communication with our valued customers and channel partners and cannot be discontinued immdly as that would hamper our business. I have all documentations done with airtel and also the reference no’s recd. from that at various point of time. This can be furnished in case the same is needed. Kindly intervene and ensure that consumers are not taken for a ride like this. I have nothing to do but look like a mute spectator to their harassment. kindly intervene so that other conusmers are not put to hardship like this.
