My father Dr. A.B Gupta (patient id : IPc1.00059631) was admitted in AMRI Hospital Saltlake under Dr. Susruta Bandyopadhyay on 5th June 2013 and was released from the hospita on 7th June 2013. The total hospital bill amount is Rs. 39799 and the mediassist approved amount is Rs. 38204. So the amount payable by patient party should be Rs. (39799- 38204) = Rs. 1595. But the total amount claimed from patient party by Amri hospital at the time of discharge is Rs. 3922 instead of Rs. 1596. If Amri hospital would not have claimed the additional amount of Rs. (3922-1595) = Rs. 2327 from patient party then mediassist would have paid Rs. 38204 in total. I have already called the customer care number in Amri Hospital and my call was forwarded at least ten times from one extension to another extension till I was given the mobile number of Dr. Biswajit Jana and was asked to talk to him regarding my complaint on claim settlement dispute. Dr. Biswajit Jana explained to me that the mediassist approved amount is Rs. 35877 and hence rest of the amount is claimed from patient party. When I firmly said that the mediassist report shows me that the approved amount is Rs. 38204, he advised me to drop a mail to tpadoc@amrihospitals.in with the mediassist report. When I sent mail in this mail id, I received a response back that this mail id does not exist and hence resent the mail to info@amrihospitals.in which I found in AMRI website. On calling Dr. Biswajit Jana to check if he has received the mail and taking action, he told me very clearly that it is not his responsibility and I should talk to billing department. I asked him about the contact person’s name and phone number and he refused to provide me the same and advised me to call the Amri hospital number provided in the hospital discharge summary and get the required contact details. Due to the non-cooperation from the Amri hospital staffs as stated above I was compelled to escalate the matter to Dr. T.S. Kuchrejja, President, AMRI hospital. After that someone from AMRI Hospital billing department called me up immediately and tried to clarify my doubts but the answers were not at all satisfactory. Hence , I am lodging complaint to this site. Please note that I do have the softcopy of the claim settlement advise provided by Madiassist India PVT LTD. But I did not get any option to upload the same on this site.
I would want to get back my hard earned Rs. 2327 which is unlawfully taken from me by AMRI hospital.
