Sir, I hold an account with Citibank and I could not find a Citibank ATM in the vicinity so,
I had drawn Rs. 1900 from a Corporation Bank ATM in Magadi Road, Bangalore, Karnataka on 04/01/09. As I was not so familiar with the design of that Kiosk machine itself I delayed a few seconds finding the cash dispenser to take out the money and to my surprise when i saw at it the cash was not there…I took my transaction receipt and I tried to draw money again for the same amount (1900) now, I got the money and when I checked the balance it showed the total amount minus Rs.3800. I compalined immediately to that Corporation bank official adjacent to their ATM, they told me it would be credited in 2 working days and if it was found during an investigation later the amount disputed will be reversed back to the bank.

I am sure that nobody else could have taken that money after me as I was puzzled and standing right there for some time.

They did credit the amount on 06/01/09 as said, however, on 01/02/09 they reversed the amount Rs. 1900 from my account back.

After several complaints I am being told by my bank (Citibank) that the transaction is valid and cannot be given back.

All I want to know is how was the investigation done and what are the proofs. I believe I have the right to information as a petitioner and for bearing the loss of my hard earned money. “Please Help!” Thank you.
